Jefferson B. Fenoy Withdrew His Presidency

Under the Article IX – QUALIFICATIONS FO THE EXECUTIVE OFFICERS, Section 1, it is clearly stated that an officer must be an Office Administration student and must be a bonafide and active member and of good moral standing.  Under Article VIII, Section 2 of the revised and ratified constitution and by-laws amended during the 2nd National PASOA Convention, November 26, 2005, the officers shall hold the office for two (2) years until their successors shall have been elected and QUALIFIED. To take in effect this article corresponds to the preceded article, the president must be at least a second or third year, office administration student, so that s/he could finish the two (2) years of office without any violation to the constitution and by-laws.

In the year 2006, November 26, during the 3rd National PASOA Convention, the 2nd PASOA National Election was held with Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus Office Administration student Jefferson Bueno Fenoy as newly elected President.  Mr. Fenoy was a 4th year graduating student during the acceptance of his presidency.  In that way, there was already a violation with the constitution and by-laws.  The election guidelines were not clearly defined.

Despite of this violation, Mr. Fenoy did his best to lead the organization as he chaired the 4th National PASOA Convention last November 29, 2007 attended by more than 400 participants.  During the aforementioned convention, Mr. Fenoy was a hired professor in his Alma Mater.

After graduating in Office Administration, those PASOA members who took up a major in secretarial education or chose to teach in school will be welcomed to PAEOAFI.  Since, Mr. Fenoy is not already a student he had his proposition, which was to withdraw his presidency.  The following are some excerpts text messages from Mr. Fenoy concerning his withdrawal of presidency:

“Why I withdraw? I myself is a violation in the constitution and by-laws…  Bonafied students have the sole right to be nominated, thus subsequently becoming an officer…”

“Sorry… I am not qualified to lead.  I’m no longer a student… my apology to the org….”

Effective February 1, 2008, the new appointed president is Ms. Jennyvie Decena of De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, Cavite, as well as the new adviser who will come from the school of the appointed president while Mr. Jefferson B. Fenoy will be welcomed to Philippine Association of Educators in Office Administration Foundation, Inc. (PAEOAFI).

 The Leader on the Leftside!

Some business organizations usually include in their job qualification the phrase “from reputable school and in good moral character.”  But what will happen to the student if the school where they are studying is not honorable in terms of Administrator’s attitude and not worth paying.  It is necessary for a school institution to provide a student with a well-rounded education that can help them in the future.

It was just happened during my data gathering for my thesis.  Traveling more than 80 km for about two to three hours in a provincial bus to gather data is not very easy most especially when the school does not want to participate.  I know that data must be given willingly and I appreciate very must those helps from some subjected colleges who participate.

So badly, one among the rest of those schools really made me feel being insulted or degraded.  I, together with my co-officer in an organization entered the gate of X-College (not real name).  First observation, there is no security guard to whom we could inquire with.  In the administration office, after one of the staff ask us about what we need, he went inside leaving us outside with the door closed.

After a while, they let us in.  Upon giving my request letter, the staff told us to as for the notation of the director who’s sitting behind the room.  We went there.  Office hour is office hour, and doing something which is irrelevant with the job and unreasonable to be excused, can be considered a time corruption.  With our pleasant greetings, still the director keeps on playing a PC game, not solitaire or pinball but seems like a modern online game RAGNAROK or UNIFICATION WAR.  In front of his desk was one of the staff who was playing RED-ALERT.  What kind of leader are they?  Playing in time of work and prioritizing of being loosed in the game than talking with the visitors who are waiting and standing in front of them?

In this kind of data gathering, I know that I cannot force any respondents to cooperate with me even though the objective of this is in good reason for I respect their privacy or what so ever school rules they may have.  But what made me feel insulted was that when I was asked to just fill up the request form by myself and put an inaccurate data regarding the number of enrollees.  This was very unethical.  They, who are supposed to guide and help the student are the one leading the students on how to cheat.  Sorry for the word but I could say that this kind of official is a big crap in this kind of institution.

I came from a reputable school and that kind of cheating suggestion is merely some kind of insulting my school, my ability and capability in doing this task.  What I did was, I never included X-College in my analysis. I’ll rather go for empty and yet true and can help to achieve the goal rather than full but useless in the future.

I mentioned no name, school, and place to point out the subject.  I stand on it that who ever would react and complain against this article is guilty unto this.
